Impact Campaign for I Am Greta

Impact co-production

WATCH IN NORWAY ON NRK

In August of 2018, Greta Thunberg, a 15-year-old student in Sweden starts a school strike for the climate. Her question for adults: if you don’t care about my future on earth, why should I care about my future in school?

Within months, her strike evolves into a global movement. Greta, a quiet Swedish girl on the autism spectrum becomes a world famous activist. The team behind GRETA has been following the young activist from her early school strike in Stockholm all the way to parliaments and massive international protests, documenting her mission to make the world understand the urgency of the climate crisis.

THE IMPACT CAMPAIGN
The campaign begins where the film ends. The voice of one young person helped spark a collective movement, and Greta’s voice has been joined by a chorus of young people around the world, demanding to be heard.

Over 10 million people took to the streets for the Global Climate Strike in 2019. This youth-led movement has gained global attention, and has inspired many to find meaningful ways to get involved in climate action within their own communities. We hope this campaign will be a resource and tool for the climate strike movement and amplify the work of youth activists who have dedicated their lives to fighting the climate emergency.

We acknowledge the global media has dedicated a significant amount of coverage to Greta Thunberg, often forgoing spotlighting the work of those who have been elevating the need for climate justice for generations. Inspired by Greta Thunberg’s leadership to pass the mic to fellow activists, we hope to leverage this film’s ability to reach those beyond the environmental choir, and connect those audiences to the work of youth activists across the globe.
